The refurbished Aspire 16 has a great screen, long battery life, and a two-year warranty.

What’s Acer got going on over at its US warehouses, I wonder? While other manufacturers are struggling to get laptops under the $800 mark, Acer seems to be sitting on a never-ending supply of refurbs being sold for cheap. Take this Aspire 16 for example: it’s packing a 16-inch touchscreen and 16GB of RAM for just $387.80 on eBay.

This is a Snapdragon X Plus laptop, which means great battery life traded for pretty poor performance for any game that isn’t 2D. Otherwise it’s a very capable design, especially at this price. 16GB of RAM is the least I’d recommend for Windows 11, and 512GB of storage should be enough if you’re not downloading absolutely everything. The screen is a particular highlight, too. At 16 inches, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 120Hz, it’s bigger, faster, and just generally better than you find in this price range.

The extra room lets the Aspire 16 offer a few more ports, too. You get dual USB-C, dual USB-A, full-sized HDMI, and a microSD card reader (weird inclusion, but okay). I’m glad it gets a webcam upgrade with Windows Hello face recognition for login. It’s a little heavier than some of the competition at this price range, but comes with a long battery life to make up for it. If you want to take a deep dive into this laptop, check out PCWorld’s review (the only major difference is the bigger storage drive).

This is a refurbished model, but it’s coming straight from Acer (via its eBay store) and includes a two-year Allstate warranty. That’s pretty dang good for under $400. If you’re looking for something else, be sure to check out PCWorld’s roundup of the best laptops on the market.
